Processing and supported inputs
How it works
The browser uses cryptographic random bytes, sets the local and unicast bits when no prefix is provided, removes duplicates within the batch, and formats the six bytes for display. Generation and export happen locally in your browser.
Formats & compatibility
Colon, hyphen, Cisco dotted, and plain hexadecimal formats; uppercase or lowercase; 1–500 addresses per batch; optional local prefix; text and JSON export.
Privacy and file processing
MAC addresses are generated in your browser and are not sent to the BytHut server.
PrivacyFree · Generated addresses are test data, not assigned vendor OUIs or a guarantee of network-wide uniqueness. Do not use them to impersonate a device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these MAC addresses vendor-assigned?
No. By default the first byte marks each address as locally administered and unicast. An optional prefix must follow the same rule.
Can two batches contain the same address?
Yes. Values are unique within one batch, but separate batches are not compared with each other.
